Plasmart has some amazing toys and games and I’ve told you about a few. Orbo is a puzzle ball for kids around 3 to 4 years old, and like Plasmart’s other toys we’ve reviewed is educational and a lot of fun! Kids have to use their motor skills to push the balls in to the holes and move them around to match up the colors correctly.

Challenging enough to get their little brains working but not SO challenging that they will get too frustrated. Orbo is a fun little puzzle ball that I like mixing up as much as my daughter likes solving it. My son is a little too old for it and it is really pretty easy for him to solve. Unless of course I mix it up….sometimes he struggles a bit after that.

2015-01-25 16.12.29-2 copyIt is made out of smooth plastic that sort of bounces when dropped. We may have dropped it a few times and there are no scratches so far, although we haven’t dropped them on anything besides carpet. Pushing the balls in is easy but not too easy and doesn’t pinch your fingers. I was worried it might pinch but it doesn’t and if you push hard the ball bumps into a soft, cushy material.

There really isn’t much to set up or to playing but I’ll run through it quick.

Setup:

You will have to mix up the color balls. Just start moving them around until they are as mixed up as you want them to be. For younger kids maybe move them one spot over to make it easier.

Play:

There is only ONE empty spot in the whole ball. Push one ball in and slide it over to the empty spot. You have to keep doing this until all the color balls are in the matching color pentagon. How long it takes to solve depends how focused your child gets.

My 4 year old has the focus of a tiny kitten but can sit and solve that puzzle until it is actually solved. She gets frustrated and says I can’t do it, puts her head down and rolls it a bit, then goes right back to solving it. I LOVE that it keeps her busy, challenges her and is fun too. Orbo can teach kids their colors, motor skills and is super fun too.
