If you are from or near Indiana then you have probably been to the State Fair at least once…or have at least heard about it. I grew up in North West Indiana and could not easily get to the fair growing up. Now I live on the South side of Indy and am VERY excited to be able to go this year and take my two children ages 4 and 2!
They have no idea what it is and haven’t even been on many rides. The games, the rides, the food and the atmosphere are still with me from the ONE time I was able to go as a kid around age 12. Truly an experience you NEVER forget and now I get to share it with my kids…every year!
“It’s a Hoosier tradition: salivating over the sweet smell of roasted corn on the cob wafting through the warm summer air; hearing high-pitched screams mixed with laughter all over the massive midway; and watching a child’s eyes open wide as he gets his first close-up look at a powerful Percheron Draft Horse or a playful Pygmy goat. This is the Indiana State Fair.”
This probably won’t be the year we all go on rides together but we can go on a few! I don’t remember the teacups but I am excited about trying them out. With so many things to see and do I am not sure where to begin! First I think I should get the tickets.
Gate admission for the 2013 Fair is $10 for adults and children 5 & under will be free.
Discount tickets are $7. Discount tickets are available at all Indiana Walmart stores, CVS/pharmacies, Indiana Farm Bureau, The Marten House Hotel.
