Otherwise known as The Color Run! This is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community. My 4 yr old son and I ran this race last year when he was 3 and we had such a good time we are going to run again this year! The race is not timed so you can go at your own pace and enjoy the scenery and the color!

The race is a 5K and at every Kilometer you run/walk/jog through an explosion of color from one of several colors selected. At the the finish line the fun continues with a gigantic “Color Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and millions of vivid color combinations.Trust me, this is the best post-5k party on the planet! Though be careful with the powder and having your mouth open, it is pretty but not very tasty.

We are running the Indy race on July 20th but you can sign up for your local race or maybe you want to wait until Spring of 2014. You can go to the Locations page and see all options and sign up for as many as you want! Who wouldn’t want to experience a healthy, colorful and extremely fun event! I even have a code for you to save $5 off of your registration. Promo Code: COLOR5OFF

My son and I jogged and walked this race last year and it was the most enjoyable race I have ever done. Granted haven’t participated in many races but still we LOVED this one. My son jogged (very slowly but adorably) for about a half a mile before he wanted to walk but he LOVED the color splashes. This race is fun for any age and we saw several people pushing strollers! I believe that counts as a parenting win.

Running alone is great sometimes but running in a group is extremely fun! You can sign up for The Color Run as a group with a team name you choose. Last year our team tried to sign up as The Rainbow Connection (I love that song!) but it was taken. We went with Rainbow Brigade which was equally awesome!

When you register in a team of 4 or more you save $5 and if you use my promo code COLOR5OFF, you can then another $5 for a total of $10.00 of the registration fee. To save simply register as a (4 minimum/infinity max) team rather than as an individual with the promo code and you get the discount AND the group fun!

People run for many reasons including in honor of loved ones, health reasons, a love for running, and some run for love. The Color Run event has sparked approximately 10 marriage proposals and one wedding! Now that is an awesome event!

If being healthy, having fun and turning yourself into a moving canvas of art isn’t enough, The Color Run also sponsors local charities for every city it visits. This race has raised donations for over 60 local and national charities in 2012. That means that you get to be healthy, have fun, AND help locally.

I would register soon even if you are planning on doing a Spring race. I know I am, I LOVE spring and that season ALWAYS makes me think of lots of wonderful color! These races sell out FAST so sign up early!

With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow:

  1. Wear white at the starting line
  2. Finish plastered in color!

[important]The promo code does NOT guarantee them a spot in the race so when they find the race closest to them that is still open, they should enter soon.[/important]
